Water Levels

Why is the water level so important to the residents of Lake Pulaski?

Lake Pulaski has a pumping system that was installed back in the early 1980's when the lake level became so high the many properties were severely damaged and/or completely lost.  It was during this time that the Lake Improvement District was formed to work with the Army Corp of Engineers to install the system.  There are very specific requirements that must be met in order for the LID board to turn on the pumps that will lower the lake by pumping from Lake Pulaski to Buffalo Lake and on to the Crow River.  See the LID BoardHistory page for more information.
