2012 Weed Control Update
Weed Control Update:
Lake Pulaski received a grant for treatment of Eurasian Water Milfoil and Curlyleaf Pondweed for 2012. We will receive a credit of $150 per treated acre. Lake Restoration treated the lake for Eurasian Milfoil and Curlyleaf Pondweed on May 11. No notice went out to residents as the DNR grant was approved on May 9th and the treatment was applied 2 days later. Urgency was utmost in the application as the water temperature could not be above 60 degrees in order to be most effective. Some residents had an orange sign in their yard where there had been a higher concentration of chemicals applied. These locations were determined by the DNR who did a EWM and CLP survey in early April. Hopefully there were no problems caused by the unannounced application. Applying the chemicals before the water temperature was at the 60 degree mark, we were able to maximize our efforts.
