Judie Rose started the meeting by asking for a motion to approve the minutes from the 2005 annual meeting. The motion was made by Dan Abramowski, seconded by Mike Demmer. The motion carried with no corrections.
Milfoil Updated: It was suggested by the board to get milfoil sprayed primarily around the beach area landings. LID will fill out the necessary paperwork for permits and it will be accounted for in the 2007 budget.
Pumping /Lake Level Update: The pumps were turned on June 1, 2006. Fourteen days of pumping resulted in the lake going down 7 inches. Both pumps were running at peak performance after cleaning and dredging. The target lake level is 964.5 and that was reached on July 17th . Today the level was recorded at 964.97.
The LID purchased the new pump and it is stored across from the Buffalo Civic Center. The pumps are not for maintaining the level; they are to keep the level from flood elevation, which is 966.
In June 2006, the LID sent a letter to Mr. Dale Homuth of the Minnesota DNR. The LID requested 1-½ feet additional inches. The LID has fulfilled all of the requirements listed by the DNR except to get our water management program accepted by Wright County. The letter addressed our engineering firm’s study on pumping into Buffalo Lake, the research on how pumping affects the Montrose Fisheries, and the channel from Little Pulaski to Lake Pulaski
being the responsibility of the LID. The LID feels it has addressed all the concerns we are waiting for a response from Mr. Homuth
Budget: Kathryn presented the proposed budget for 2007. Changed the electrical pumping costs to $15,000 from $10,000 in hopes of being able to pump again in the fall. We have a balance of $74,382.77. We have also budgeted for the milfoil survey. A motion was made by Mike Demmer to accept the budget at presented, seconded by John Campbell. Motion carried. Joel Macarath, Sheriff’s Department, Water and Recreation: Joel reported that there are 200
plus lakes in Wright County. The sheriff’s department patrols 150 of them. Joel reviewed some of the regulations. The volunteer water patrol was discussed. Anyone can be part of this patrol. Joel stated that you could be the eyes and ears of the department and help out where the water patrol can’t be. As noted there is a sign of etiquette at the landing for area boaters.
New Business:
- Mike Demmer stated that it seems the boats are bigger and faster than ever. There are signs now posted at the landing regarding boating etiquette.
- The mailing list was discussed and it was suggested to check the list to make sure all the residents of Little Pulaski were on the current list. Judie volunteered to check with the County’s official listing.
- With the upcoming construction in 2007, the Pulaski Road sewer project as well as other projects, sewage and drainage concerns were discussed.
- Pulaski Ponds survey is complete. Excavating the pond will possibly take place next winter.
- The board is looking for a secretary to replace Carol Busse. If you are interested, please contact Bill Jundt
Judie Rose adjourned the meeting at 8:15 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Carol M. Busse
