LID Minutes February 6 2017

Lake Pulaski LID Board Meeting Minutes                                                    

Location, Date & Time: Murphy Co Design, 15 Division St E Buffalo, 2/6/17 7:00pm

  • Attendees: Bill Jundt, Tom Marr, Jill Murphy, Jon Tank, Brooke Cebulla
  • This monthly meeting is held for the Lake Pulaski Improvement District members and is open to the public.
  • Meeting was called to order by Jon Tank.

Previous Business:

  • Jon Tank made a motion to approve the October 25th, 2016 LID minutes. Motion seconded by Tom Marr. Motion approved.

New Business:

  • Jon Tank provided an update on the outflow proposal that the LID has been working on with the City of Buffalo, the DNR, Buffalo Lake residents and Deer Lake residents. The LID would like to put a monitoring plan in place b this spring. A conference call is scheduled with the DNR on Monday, February     to discuss the testing method.
  • Jon Tank started an open discussion on a plan for the 2017 staffing and inspections that will be done at the public landing. After discussing last seasons staffing, the LID plans to use the City of Buffalo inspectors that will be set up using Lee Ryan, for all inspections done this 2017 season. These inspectors will be trained; they will be stationed at the landing from sunrise to sunset, Monday through Sunday. Jon Tank made a motion to use the City of Buffalo inspectors for 2017. The LID has yet to negotiate rates, and will propose inspectors be there from fishing opener through the end of September. Bill Jundt seconded the motion, motion carried, motion approved.
  • Tom Marr brought up a discussion on the prop wash area at the public landing. Jon Tank stated that the prop wash area will be filled in for this upcoming 2017 season.
  • Tom Marr provided an AIS update. Mike Norton from Lake Restoration has left his position, and a Jennifer Jones has replaced him. Tom Marr has been in contact with her and she has akeady applied for grants and funding on behalf of the LID. The LID will most likely receive a small amount of grant money in 2017.
  • Bill Jundt reported that four, new, large buoys will be placed this spring along the Little Pulaski channel.

Financial Report:

  • Jill Murphy reported/discussed financial statements and expenses. An expense of $3,000 is due to the DNR for water inspections, which was approved last August at the annual meeting. Current amounts through the end of December 2016 were $83,578.15.
